Navy Dads

My daughter was supposed to graduate from boot camp on 2-4-11 but the day of battle stations we got a call and she said she had missed her run time and would not be going to battle stations. Her division has now graduated and she was held back . During this time she hurt her ankle and is in a FIT program trying to pass her run. We are worried sick about her!

What is next and how long does she have to pass the run?

She said everything else was good.

Does anyone have any info? I am about to go crazy worrying!

Randall,

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles your daughter is going through and understand your worries. I'm not exactly sure on the amount of tries they give you to pass the run test but I believe she still gets another chance. If she failed do to an injury they will give her time to heal and take the run test again. I've heard of recruits staying weeks past their projected PIR due to reasons as this one.

My best guess is they will let her fully recover and then she'll pick up were she left off. Keep us posted on anything you hear.

From the RTC Facebook page:

U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command There are recruits who do not pass the final PFA (physical fitness assessment) and do not graduate on time. However, we do work with these recruits because the Navy does want to see everyone succeed. It might take one of these recruits a few more days to pass it or it might take a few more weeks. Just keep training and stay motivated and keep your eye on your goal! You will succeed!

Hello,

The Navy doesn't want to lose her, and she will grduate.  They will hold her back until she can finish her run time.  Try to relax and not worry as communication is limited while recruits are in Basic.  Try contacting her recruiter, they can usually get more details but they are "limited" under a privacy act of just how much they can tell you.

Dale..
