Navy Dads

My son's ship date is coming soon and I wanted to get ideas on what I should be doing to get everything set for his departure. I've seen all the lists of what to bring and what not to bring but I'm trying to see if there's anything more. We already have a SF1199 filled out by NFCU for his direct deposit. Are there any other forms available that can be filled out ahead of time? I'm thinking stuff like NAVPERS forms such as Record of Emergency Data and anything else he's going to need to have for processing week.

Thanks.

My son left this morning for MEPS in Los Angeles (recruiter drove him) and he flies to RTC tomorrow as well. I had a similar experience- he got tired of me wanting to help him so much...

Yes.  My son is at meps now and is supposed to fly to Great Lakes this afternoon. So, hopefully, I'll get "the call" tonight.

Well, my son just sent me his flight info.  He takes off in an hour and should be at ORD at around 4:15 pm CST.

My son texted me and said they arrived in Chicago safe.

Got the phone call last night.  Pretty quick. Less than a minute.
