None that I am aware of......
I'm with Tom on this one but it would be a good idea to touch-base with the Recruiter just to make sure everything is squared away..
I also am unaware of any travel restrictions, but you should definitely discuss this with the recruiter. There probably is a requirement to report any overseas travel.
My son was in DEP for 1 year, He was to report EVERY Wednesday for meetings. They definitely want to know if travel is in the works as they do want meetings to be attended and if not then there has to be good reasons. If you travel out of the country or out of state, then there will be a number of meeting that will be missed and depending on the recruiter they will not be very happy for that to occur. These meetings in DEP are mandatory so if travel plans need to be made and you do so without his/her recruiter being okay with the travel arrangements not good. Attendance at these meetings are for sailor to be benefit, they need to go through a whole host of Navy doctrine, to prepare them for basic at GL. It might also have a bearing on when he/she is going to GL if you go into DEP and you leave for basic in 1 or 2 mos not a good idea for traveling. If like my son he was in DEP for a whole year its possible they may go with your travel plans. (I'm just saying). Technically he /she is in the Navy reserve as I Understood the rules but not officially in the Navy?? ( I think?)
First of all thank you for offering me the privilege of being part of this group, I am humbled and honored.
Thank you for all replies to my inquiry I will make sure my son gets the message :)
