Thanks for the update on Kevin! Daniel we share the same exact sentiment about this "There are some days where he is loving life and the Navy and then others where he is pissed off and fed up." My son Oliver tells me the same heheh... Sorry to hear about the stolen cel and boxers hoping at least for the cel to show up!

My son, Kevin is on his first Deployment (with the 5th Fleet). He is on the USS Boxer out of San Diego. We have been able to excange e-mails every few days. There are some gaps in communication occasionaly, and they were in River City for a couple of weeks. He has even called us from the ship a couple of times. He is working nights, so his after work call comes to us at about 2am. Yikes! They have been out since Aug / Sept. Based on past deployments, they are proably in the second…

Reading Kevin's e-mals is like riding a roller coaster. There are some days where is is loving life and the Navy and then others where he is pissed off and fed up. Just like real life, eh. He has complained about haveing to keep a close eye on his stuff. So far, someone has stolen his cell phone and most of his boxers. The funny part is, they were taken out of his DIRTY laundy bag!!! We are making our second replenishment package up, with more boxers!

I am proud to say I have a son in the Navy (and usally do to anyone I meet)! We are flying the Navy flag while he is deployed, and it is looking pretty beat up. I can hardly wait for his retrun to Pearl so I can meet up with him and go on a Tiger Cruise (hopfully)!!!
Matt that's great news BZ to…tag:navydads.com,2013-12-20:2150375:Comment:3696992013-12-20T15:23:41.023ZNavyDads Co-Admin, Garyhttps://navydads.com/profile/GaryE

I just joined the site. Looks pretty cool and informative. My AB joined un-designated this past June. Went to Pensecola and waited about three weeks for a class. Now he is in San Diego training up and waiting for the new LHA6 USS America to be delivered in March. He is going to be in fuels. He says he is enjoying it and anxious to get underway. Youth, always in a hurry to be somewhere, so was I. Like all of you, we miss our sailor and can't wait to go to the commissioning in San Fran next September. Also, with his mom and I both prior Army, my AB was sure to constantly update me when Navy beat Army. Maybe 13 is a lucky number.
