Ask A Sailor

Hey everyone.. just wanted to make a group for you all to ask sailors fresh out of boot camp any questions you have about your sailor. I promise one of us here in Pensacola will know the answer. Thanks for everything you all do as parents.

Kathy - I am almost positive it is a division effort, the division has to pass battlestations. They are told about battlestations and they usually try their best because from what my son said it is as real as it gets for simulation!

Hello all,
I am not a boot sailor but I am an AT1 with 11 years experience in the Navy, I would be more delighted to answer any questions you may have.

I have a question!

My son says "some" guys in his division are slacking off there at bootcamp. During battlestations are you "judged" individually or as a team?

Hello everyone we are currently without sailors to answer our questions. My son has been deployed for the next few months. Anyone who has a son or daughter that would be interested in answering questions in this group would be a big help. So for now it's up to us parents to find answers for each other. So the group Ask A Question might be a great alternative for now.

Hi Evan! Hope all is well with you. So glad Cindy was able to go with you. She will treasure that time alone with you forever. How long will you be in San Diego before heading off elsewhere?

Evan, Have a safe trip to San Diego. If you find your way into Boise, Idaho, let your Mom know...she has my cell number. I'll see if I can remember how to cook a good meal! Will you still be answering questions or is this it? Morgan did enjoy BS (8/12), he was in command of first fire or something like that. I can't keep those straight!

Greetings all, I commented on another page then found my answer here. Evan, glad you're able to be home with the folks. Enjoy your time together and have a safe trip with Mom to SD.
Hey Cindy, how did Morgan do? Has he PIR yet? I'm about 2 weeks behind due to too much family travel.

my wife was supposed to go to Pensacola sometime between August 11th through the 13th but, for some reason got stuck in Great Lakes with some of her other ship mates until the 21st, is what she was told. Said that some of her ship mates that were *supposed* to go to Pensacola, got rerouted to Virginia... and was also told that if she got to go down to Pensacola, that there is a 3 month waiting period for her to actually get into a class... And that would mean that depending on how long her wait and how long her class was, she wouldn't be able to come home until after she graduates from her class... I guess my question would be, now that she has graduated, IF she gets a 3 or 4 day weekend and is not in a class... would it be possible for her to come home for a couple of day or two without having to take any time away from her leave? Or does she really have to wait until she actually gets through the class in order to go anywhere?

Thanks EG. I'm not really worried, I was just curious. I hope they don't have Battle Station the night before PIR, if Morgan doesn't pass, which he will, we'll already be there! Evan makes it sound so easy, stay up 24 hrs and that's it. Sure. Mom's can do that for them!
