Got a nice note from my son Garrett, the CO came by his group the other day to present Garrett with a Safety Award.  He is with the 7th Fleet as an AW/Rescue Swimmer on the USS Cowpens having just completed excercises with the Australian Navy this past month.  Great to see his efforts are being noticed!

Be curious, when he can talk about it, where he was....when Eric was in Capetown he loved it!!!  Of course the Cuban cigars and 9% beer might have had something ot do with it!!!!!

We are not even sure where our Brian is. He is a Flight Engineer on the P-3 with VP-40 out of Whidbey Island but has been doing some secret stuff elsewhere. He is really enjoying his flying though!

Just put my Sailor on a plane top return to his base. We had him home for about two weeks. He made it home to see his sister graduate from high school and receive the Girl Scout Gold Award.

My son, Emmett, with HSM-77 at NAS North Island in SD, returned from 1st deployment in March....getting ready to go out again in Dec of this year....flying almost every-day keeps him busy. He is a little tense...getting married in November....his fiance is deployed as SWO in Central America....gets her next duty assignment in July...not sure what future in Navy they will have depending on her and his next assignment. Otherwise, all is well.

Son thought he'd go to JAX or possibly Whidbey and ended up in Tinker..VQ-7 for training, then VQ-3 or VQ-4.

Just had mine home for his grandfather's funeral - Army - Vietnam. He got his grandfather's flag, dogtags, uniform, etc....
He is back at Tinker now and waiting for his class to start. He loves it there. Said he has to know every part of the E6-B.
