Welcome Rick,
My son also went to his C school at Whidbey Island. I,ve was sent for some odd things too. 50 ft of chow line...sponge repair kits and squeegee sharpeners to name some. The new guy gets some interesting asignments.

My Son is at NAS Whidbey Island,Wa. waiting on his C school to man up, he is an AME and right now is tdy to VAQ 140. His first permanent squadron will be VAQ 209 out of Andrews AFB (Naval joint facility andrews) Md.
The other night he was sent to get "engine start up exhaust samples" in a plastic bag! The chief then asked him to fill out a ID10T form... Yes they got him

well luckily, this morning was only a trainer and it went pretty well. and oh yea, trust me, those 0400 briefs and pre flights take a lot of coffee and saying "you can do this" to make it on time.

Both the Mercy and the Comfort have done a tremendous job for this great nation this year. BZ to both ships.

The slowest ship in the Navy, the hospital ship USNS Mercy, has completed Pacific Partnership 2010 and is making her way home (at 12 kts). Outstanding mission, thousands of patients treated, many thousands of eyeglasses delivered, lots of animals treated or vaccinated, many engineering projects done. And one of the HSC-23 helicopter flight crews won the US Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for a medevac in heavy fog and rain in the mountains of Cambodia, saving a life of the wife of the US Embassy's Public Affairs Officer. Nice to know two young girls have their mother because of the flying skills of a Navy flight crew. Congratulations Son!
