Ed ~ It sounds like you have more entertainment than if you were living inside Disney World!  I really hope we can make it out there next year.

Were hoping to be the home for the new Strike Fighter.  The NAF would become an air base.  Imperial County Airport also serves as a support field for the Canadians parachute team, and a touch n go for marines helio units.  One bird that defintely gets your attention here is the sound of the Ospry's when there in town.

E G, no I live in El Centro.  The Imperial Valley is one big MOA surrended by restricted air space. Here we get a varied of birds training for the marines, navy, australia and brits. Helicopters are low flying.

Ed, I have to ask. Are you in P'cola? I know when we vacation at the beach near the area we take our boat to an island right off the runway of the base. The trainer jets constantly fly right over us on take off. The runway is hidden by a hill but they pop out right over top of us. You can always tell by the sound when a F/18 is coming and once in a blue moon it will be one of the Angels. It's also cool when your sitting on the balcony at the condo looking at the beach and a couple of Blue Angels pass by.

My wife even argued that this group was flying too high to stir my coffee.  I goofed

Mike, you're right it's not the Blues this morning my mistake.  It's another group of F/18's practicing.

Hmmmm, I thought they were all on "half time" break.  I guess not.  I'm surprised they're flying today.  I'll have to ask David about that when he calls.
