On behalf of David, my wife and myself, I would like to thank everyone for their kinds words!  We are very proud of what David has accomplished in only 4 1/2 years in the Navy.  By the same token, we are just as proud of all of our service men and women: past, present and future!  David has been graced with this opportunity and we pray he makes an everlasting impression on his teammates and the people he meets during the next 3 years.

Just read the email from NavyDads about your son receiving his crest.  Congratulations! As the dad of a new Seaman who graduated last Friday, 21st January, I can imagine how you must be busting with pride.

Ed, David received his crest yesterday, along with his buddy AJ and 4 or 5 others!  They haven't mentioned the dinner Tuesday night so I explained it to him again.  Hopefully, being on "2nd shift" won't keep him from attending.  If he is able to attend, I would really appreciate a few photos if that's possible!  We haven't gotten any since he left in October.

Thanks, Ed!  I've already mentioned it to him but I'll remind him!  He really sounded excited!  He starts a "normal shift" on Monday, probably 1100-1900 and that will alternate with an 0400-1200 shift eventually.  I don't know if they've been officially told about Tuesday night or not.  I'll ask him if he calls today to tell us about his cresting ceremony.

David just passed his cresting Review Board!  He gets his Blue Angels crest at a ceremony tomorrow afternoon!  He is now officially a Blue Angel!!  HOOYAH!!

Ed, I saw that photo.  David told me who the three guys are but I can't remember all of their names.  I think one is John Lamson, a crew chief.

I found a neat photo of the avionics crew working on a Blues F/18.  The photo was taken last Friday in El Centro. Look for at Navy.mil
