I noticed that my SR pass in review has only 7 divisions scheduled for 10/26/12 where most other dates have 12-14 or more. My question is do you think I will still need to be in line at the gate by 0600 like everybody suggests.

7 divisions x about 80 sailors/division x 4 guests/sailor still about 2250 folks minimum.....

Gary,

Well of course the rule of thumb is always the early bird gets the worm. My son's TG also had only 7 graduating divisions. We did not get to the PIR hall until like 7:30 am if my memory serves me. There were plenty of seats in front of his division row for us at that time...

Do you recall what time you got there ? and or did you wait around quite awhile ? The only reason I ask is because we will be getting into G.L late thursday and I am traveling with 3 great women who take awhile to get going in the A.M . If you know what I mean..

Oh I absolutely know what you mean! Between my wife and my two daughters getting ready could take hours hehe... We took a shuttle from our hotel @ SpringHill Suites which was roughly about a 10-12 minute ride to RTC. When we got there MA checked our ID's, after a short walk we headed straight to the PIR hall doors and our names were checked off the list. No waiting no line... Again this is all based on our experience arriving at 7:30 am.

Keep in mind the hall doors open at 7 am.

Note: There were five of us that attended PIR. My wife and I, my ex-wife and her boyfriend and my son's girlfriend (she was an additional guest).

You cannot get into the review hall until 7. We had 13 divisions last weekend. We got into the gate at 6:50, and right into the review hall. If you get there around 7 you'll be fine. You may need that extra hour sleep if you intend to meet your sailor at the airport. We took a cab to gate 6. Money WELL spent because you don't have to wait in the traffic line, or find a place park. Go to Sarges meet and greet @ the Sundance Saloon @ 6p.m. Thursday night. Its free and time well spent.

I agree with Howie, back in March we had 7 divisions graduate.  I left the Marriott at 6:30 on their shuttle, and breezed right in.  I went to Sarge's meet and greet the night before and made friends with other parents so the time waiting for the ceremony to begin was filled with chatting with new friends and it just flew by.  Enjoy the experience.  Try not to cry......I dare you.

Well my sons mother just received his box of stuff she said it was hard for her I can just imagine being a dad so not long from now I will wait for a letter crossing my fingers
