My son's PIR is June 24, and we are so looking forward to it.  Ship 06 Div 227.  I can identify with you about that letter.  I had the same feelings when the letter came.  Hope your son is doing well and thank him for his service.

That's how I read it too.  If so, maybe his wife and your son are in the same company?

My son is in Ship 14 Div 246 as well. Just sent out a letter to him yesterday. Was wondering. If a SR does not have a phone card will they let them call out. Forgot to put one in this last letter. Will get one in the mail to him today.

Not exactly but my Son is also a new recruit (Ship 14 Div 245) also with a PIR of July 8th. We will be flying in from Kansas City and staying at one of the local hotels.  

I have heard that some parents have received letters from their son/daughter but I haven't yet so I've been watching for the mail more closely than usual these days. :)

Bravo Zulu, also referred to as "BZ," is a naval signal, typically conveyed by flaghoist or voice radio, meaning "Well Done"; in addition to U.S. naval forces, it has also been used as part of vernacular slang within NATO and other Allied naval forces.
