Nadine,

That's a little disurbing as I think it's pretty common place, I wonder if anyone has ever actually gotten the Navy to make this reimbersement ?

Just a comment about transportation and leave. Our sailor was in a bootcamp push group which graduated earlier than usual. We had to send itinerary showing he had a ticket home and a ticket to SA before they would release him. no problem. Buying refundable tickets was advised should he be held back and not graduate on time but these tickets are very expensive so we took our chances. all worked out. We were told that the Navy would reimburse him for a plane ticket from GL to SA once he got to SA. He had to go on leave because of his early graduation date instead of flying straight from GL to SA so they said they would reimburse him/us. He got there and was told his first command would do the reimbursing. In his phone call with the person in charge of his first command he was told SA should have reimbursed him and that his first command would not. So- no reimbursement.

Scott:

my son Sean arrived at MA "A" school the first week in Jan. They basically sat around and went to briefings until class started a couple of weeks later.

My son and 6 or 7 others are arriving at SA for MAA School tomorrow from GLakes RTC. Anyone know what they do for the two weeks prior to their start date? I can remember when I was waiting for my A School (Way back when we still had wooden decks) we just sat around. Still the same?

Hey Tess,

He likes the opportunity but he is homesick. It will be good for him and Matt to have more familar faces around. We are thinking about Matt as well. Take care and talk to you soon. DH

Daryl,
Any word on how Nick likes the new location? Have him in my thoughts. Matt should be there in about a week.
