His name is Matt. What's your son's name? I know there's another sailor from Champlin, MN going there too (but I don't think his relatives are on the N4D or M website). If you want to request me as friend, we can do last names but due to security purposes. I haven't heard specifics about his orders, just that I think he has est. 2 weeks leave at home and then heading to Offitt. But things could've changed. I do know he gets pinned on Friday and he'll be home on Saturday ~ haven't seen him since October. The letters, phone call and pictures have been appreciated. Looking forward to seeing him.

Hey Tess, it looks like your nephew and my son will be pinned this Friday as well. Congrats!! However, if your nephew doesn't arrive in Offitt until mid March I'm wondering when my son will arrive? What is your nephew's name and I will pass his name onto my son? I would imagine they know each other. Take care!

Hi Daryl,
I sent you a PM yesterday (I may messed something up on my end). My nephew is heading there, I believe mid-March.

Do any of you dads have MA sons or daughters heading out to Offitt AFB in the next week or two or perhaps already there? DH

Shane, my son is stationed here at the Bangor nuclear submarine base right across the Puget Sound from Seattle. His training is with the Marines so for the next 2-4 months it's going to be a real bear! He's been there only 2 days and already he said the Marines do everything twice as fast and twice as hard.

Kyle, his name is Tony or Anthony. He will graduate from RTC this Friday and has already received his orders. He had the school and E3 on his contract. (My good friend is a recruiter)so his Boot Camp start date was held so his school would start right after PIR. Can't wait for the Pinning Ceremony, I and going to pin my old MAA Badge on him!

Terry:

So where is your son heading? My son Sean will be heading for more training then to Mobile Security.

Tess and Shane, yes it was well worth it! I would do it again in a NY minute. We met one of his instructors outside the hall and he said we should do all we could to try to embarrass him and do funny things...it was hilarious! So good to meet the Genovas too! This parenting is real hard sometimes. Our son and his fiance got up around 5 am today and drove to the base, his first assignment. We're so glad he's close and has so of his shipmates there too from MAA school.
