Shane - we're in Edmonds, just north of Seattle. It's great to know that our sons are getting the best training on the planet. Wherever their first duty station is, they'll be well prepared. Best of luck to Sean.

Thanks for the Info, where are you located? I am in Yakima. Sean was telling me that the MSF has quite a bit more training associated with it and after thier 15 days home then he will go back to Miss, then a month of training with the Marines. which in the end I guess would be more exciting the base patrol

Shane - my son (pinning on 3/12) thought he might be heading for Bangor (we live in WA as well) or Kings Bay in Georgia. The other day he told me there aren't many positions being filled at either, so MSF would be more likely. From what I understand, the Navy's MSF provides point defense for any high-value asset, be that an aircraft, oil platform, USNS or USS ship. Anything the Navy deems high value, they protect.

For a kindle, you purchase at a reduced price books and newspapers through Amazon.com. got one for xmas. I work in a library so I wish I could download books from the system but it has to go through Amazon. Check out Nook from Barnes & Noble. I think you can download from more sources than Barnes and Noble. Also, an ITouch allows you to download from our library system for free.

We are scheduled to go to the 2/19 pinning, coming in the day before, staying at a Howard Johnson near by. Our son asked for our driver's licenses and birth dates. I guess so we can drive onto the base. That is all I have heard for now. Hope the snow stays put so we can leave NY.

Tess,

If your son reads, you could get him a kindle with a world wide subscription

To all, My son has been going to MA school at Lackland, he graduates 03/05. Orginally he was wanting to get based in Bangor WA, (we live in WA) but now he tells me he would like to do the Mobile Security Force can anyone tell me about that? Thanks
