My son has been in the Nay for almost 18 years so far and we are very proud of him. He has had assignments to VF squadrons and did two tours to the Mediterranean and the Gulf. He then served for 3 years as an Instructor at Pensacola. He then qualified for Air Crew and Served with VP-8 in Maine. He is currently an instructor at VP-30 in Jacksonville.
We are concerned though that now the Navy wants to kick him out at 18 years 3 months because of some DUI's he got back in Nuke school. He did everything that Florida and the Navy asked of him to do to fulfill the counseling and legal issues.
He has been clear of any alcoholic beverages for at least 16 years.
What can be done to get the Navy to reconsider and let him complete his desired years of service? He has not been a problem to any of his commanders and has gotten personal citations from Battle Group Commanders while he served with the VF squadrons. His service has been excellent and he has kept a personal goal of being the best he can be.

Let's face it, P-cola is a very special Navy place. Can't wait to go back when they finish the addition to the air museum. The pic is awesome. I'd love to have one of those big a** air craft carrier models out in the front... those were fantastic. I love model building, I just can't imagine what it would be like to build one of those!

Hey Jim... Love that museum, been there twice in the past couple of months. My son John just landed at Norfolk, going aboard the Truman. He has several folks from JAX that went up with him. First thing he said to me when he called today was he wanted to see about volunteering at Nauticus (USS Wisconsin). He put in 62 hours volunteer time at the Air Museum in P-cola when he was there this summer. He loves doing that sort of thing...lucky dog, wish I was there to do that.

He will be going to Main in March for 8 weeks for indoc and then back to Jacksonville to Attend His University. My God I wish I had applyed my self the way he has at such a young age. Way to go Son we are so proud of you. Go Navy!

My son just got his orders last week and will be assigned to JAX base. He is presently at Pensacola, will be coming home next week for ten days and then JAX. He will be in VP-26. Hope to get to share with others on this group.
