First time posting since this sight was updated.  My son is a Navy Corpsman.  He just returned from his 1st deployment to Afghanistan with the 3/2 Marines out of CL.  Really glad to have him back in the States and very proud of him!  He earned a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and his FMF pin while on deployment.  He was an Individual Augmentee (IA) for this deployment and is now back at his permanent duty station at a clinic in Great Lakes.

Congratulations to the recent FMTB grads (my son did FMTB in CP last year).

Back from Camp Pendleton.  Had a great time and so enjoyed seeing our son.  It was also good to meet Joe.  Pictures to follow.

Thanks,  but we are flying.  As long as the Pilot is careful, we'll be ok.  Taking all of the Grandparents along with us... Oh Boy.  I know it's going to be fun.  And yes, I will post pics when we return.

Joe- if driving PLEASE be careful....there are some dangerous portions of roadway here in Arizona between Tucson and Phoenix...just because it is straight and boring!

Leaving tomorrow evening for California to watch my son's FMTB ceremony.  His mother and I can't wait to see him.

My son went through A school in Great Lakes, but he had a C school as a surgical technician in San Antonio.  Your daughter will really enjoy the weather in San Antonio.  My son is now stationed in Pearl Harbor and really enjoys the weather!

Frederick,

My son went to A school in Great Lakes shortly before they moved the school to San Antonio.  He was in training there for 16 weeks.  However, he got 14 days leave for Christmas and came home during that time.  I would imagine that she will be about the same.  She should enjoy the weather in San Antonio a lot better than my son did in Chicago.  He's in Camp Pendleton now and doesn't miss the Chicago winter at all.
