Navy Corpsman Description and Links

Hospital Corpsman (HM) is a rating in the United States Navy that is most frequently known to the general public in their seconded role cross-services— as the equivalent of an army medic in the US Marine Corps out among the combat units in the field. Hospital Corpsman are members of the Navy's Hospital Corps, and are frequently the only medical care-givers available in many fleet or marine units on extended deployment. Hospital Corpsman serve as enlisted medical specialists for the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. The Hospital Corpsman serves in a wide variety of capacities and locations, including shore establishments such as naval hospitals and clinics, aboard ships as the primary medical caregivers for Sailors while underway, or with Marine Corps units.

My son was also just deployed to Afghanistan. He was just married this past December so please pray for his new wife too.

Prayers to Jason and you and your family Jon. I'm still waiting to here the final word from my son and son in-law. They leave with in 4 months with a MEU.

Well,, I knew it was just a matter of time.. My son is being deployed to Afghanistan ... Thats what he wanted to do, so all I can do is support him...

When you live over seas and too when you are in the military one will discover quickly it is a small world. On a note, I use to tell my brother who was also in the USN but 4 yrs earlier than I, do not do anything too radical because Mom will eventually find out...As they say the 6 degrees...It is a true concept in AK (Large State but a very small community).
