Talked to my son tonite, central and south America's are off limits to them. Wearing the uniform while traveling commercial is prohibited. Any of the other questions he said would have to go up the food chain.

What does it take to get our sailer out of the country for a family vacation? What kind of permission does it take? How long does it take to get it? Are there places they specifically won't let them go? Any other details?

This is Petty Officer 3rd Class Ashley Roof, and she is the first woman to be promoted out of the Meritorious Combat Advancement Program. Her meritorious combat promotion was in recognition of her tireless efforts as a Corpsman who spent countless days outside the wire in Helmand Province ensuring the safety and well-being of her Marines. When Combat Outpost Shir Gazay was attacked, then HN Roof saved lives and tirelessly tended to wounded without pause or hesitation, for which she was previously awarded a Navy Achievement Medal. She is truly one of the best.

SARC stands for special amphibious recon Corpsman. It is a pipeline that includes 52 weeks and 5 schools. FMTB is an 8 week course in camp Pendleton that qualifies Corpsman to serve with the Marine Corps

I have a question, my son said he was asked about SARC and if he would be interested. Is this in addition to 18 weeks at FSH and 8 weeks at FMTB? And do all recruit Corpsman get asked? Not real familiar with Navy.

Heard from my son today, he is in great spirits and enjoying everything about BC, even the IT's he said. Yeah right! And he is the Medical Yeoman.
