Crystal, I hope those dates hold true for Justen. I'm glad he is going to be closer to you. I can't imagine the loneliness you feel, but I'm sure my kids would step up just like Justen.  My daughter makes the best of any situation, she even loved it in the ME. So yeh, I expect she's enjoying herself and making memories.  She wasn't overly joyed with japan once she got there (wasn't what she thought it would be)  But God has been good to her. Now she once again feels like she's making a difference and she is giving it 150%.

Blondie Sounds like your daughter is having a good expirence. So glad she is actively helping. Justen is leaving the Reagan between now and April 1ST. He is anxious to be closer to home and at his new job. Lonely here without Dave. It is ok because I will see him again someday.

suzi we had a wonderful trip they pictures have been a problem but now that we don't know about sailors computer it looks like a longer wait for pictures!  but that's okay they need to be where they are and doing what they are doing. I'll wait. LOL  I sent them an e-mail, they have to have the request fromt he ship so I forwarded everything to my daughter, so whenever she's allowed acess????  I hope if not the BR, someone in the 7th fleet can get help. It's heart breaking to think our kids gave everything away and are working soo hard on so little.  Prayer id my comfort.

I loved hearing about your trip. Sounds like your daughter is obviously on a great track!

AdopaPlatoon started in late 1998. I read about it in The Cleveland Plain Dealer in early 1999 and got involved right away. I'm met some wonderful people from all over the world...many soldiers who are so grateful that it makes me cry at times.

Suzi thank You, from one mom to another, we are all proud of our children and I mean ALL OUR children (USN). but when you hear how happy they are in their voices and how proud of themselves.....makes me cry everytime.  they couldn't understand how much my daughter called mom and told her everything! then we met over 100 of them and by the time our 2 weeks were up they all were calling us mom and dad and hugging! (this was hard for some of them to get use too, what a shame).  when we left one young man told me, Now I understand why "XXXXX"'s slways does what "mom" expects all the time even when we tell her "mom" will never know. It's out of respect and love and I want you to know, I'll be following her lead now that I've met you. I promise!  When she's on the phone and all those walking by yelling "Hi Mom" or "keep praying Mom"   it just warms my heart.

never heard of that website, thanks !

Blondie....I read your posts and meant to say congrats....finally got here! You go on and be proud of your girl....or young lady I should say.

It's really nice of you to share this with us.

I wonder if anyone has contacted www.adoptaplatoon.org/site. I've been supporting deployed service members since 1999 with AAP. They are a wonderful organization.

You are so right blonde. And like I said, it's an honor, a true honor to support and encourage them.

thank you for everything you are doing.  Our daughter is always trying to give us the credit too. But like I tell her, we can teach them (or try too, if they listen) but it's them that take it to heart and go out an Live it.

For anyone who has a Sailor serving with the 7th Fleet and would like a Care Package sent to them, please email their name and address and we'll see to it that they get a box filled with personal care items and some goodies. We are working with a University in Virginia, Wal Mart and our church in Pa to put them together. We'd be proud to support & encourage your Sailor. You can reach us at fishburn82@verizon.net  or armorofgodmilitaryministry@gmail.com

Blondie,

You have every right to be proud of your daughter. We were telling our son last week how proud we are of him & the entire 7th Fleet and he said "Mom, don't you think that may have something to do with the people that have raised us?". Made me tear up a bit I have to admit. We are indeed very proud of them and feel honored to be able to support and encourage them!
