I heard from others that Pensacola was a mess. Some of the moms on navy4moms were saying their sons had been waiting 2 months or more for classes to start. Spoke with his recruiter and he explained that it was normal and he didnt know why they dont just give them a week or two at home, since this happenns almost every summer. He said the big lag was because of all the recruits that join right after high school every summer. But atleast he's gotten started and is doing something besides gopher and cleanup duties.

It was the same way for Kyle when he arrived at Groton. I was glad when the classes started (no time to get into trouble) but once they did we hardly heard from kyle except when he needed somethng mailed to him. Kyle gets up at 0330 so he can run and work out before morning pt and chow. That was a long time before your son classed up.

Looks like the vacation is over for my son (LOL), wife called down at 9:30 PM and he was in bed already. He arrived back on 9/14 and has been waiting since then for classes to begin. He said classes have finally started, and he now has to get up at 0430 no more sleeping in. He is at Correy Station for CTN
