Hi Sailor07,Yes it has been pretty darn quiet.Don't know about everybody else, but things here have been pretty busy. All of that is about to change though.Fall has arrived and it is time to dust off the rifles and binocs and start beating the brush!!!! woohoo !!

Looks like you all have been getting a lot cooler up north than down here.I am sure it will make it's way here soon enough though.I noticed on my way home this evening that the tree leaves were on the fast track toward fall.

Well have a good one and talk to you later!!!!!

Hi Sailor07,evening Jim......Sailor07,I read your post and after giving it a bit of thought I have to agree with what Jim posted.Every person in the military should have no problem doing whatever they do on their offtime as long as it doesn't interfere with their commitment to the military. So if any officer was trying to make life tough on any other military person they would have to really have something significant. If they did then they would have been asking for trouble.

Not sure how dependable the chain of command in the Navy is for dealing with one of their own(an officer),but I would have to put my faith in that option before getting too excited.

I know during my time in the military I always put my trust in the chain of command, but that was a long time ago.

Best of luck on whatever you decide!!!!!!!

Congratulations also to our newest Sailor= Anne!! What a pretty young lady in her uniform.
I have been in heaven past two days. Jeff is going thru his 6 weeks "Chief Bootcamp". When he calls, he's hoarse and can just about squeek, and we keep the calls short so he can get some sleep. Sounds like he gets lots of advise, teasing, and learning, along with marching and singing, etc. He applied and was received to attend the USS Constitituion in Boston for the annual CPO Heritage Week. They trained, marched, visited vet homes and shelters, and had a fantastic week. The Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy was there,,,,,,,,and I was able to see a picture of Jeff with him. They drove back to DC, and next day went to Kings Dominion in Va. for another Chief event. From the pictures I was able to find him at least 7 photos, and can now understand why he doesn't have a voice.......looks like 600 Chief Selectees trying to outmarch and outshout each other!! LOL. I can't wait to hear all the stories when we get down there in a couple of weeks!
Funny part was,,,,,,,I knew they couldn't stop being in a Navy caravan,,so we drove over to Rt. 95 and waited.......all of a sudden 3 vans with lights were on,,,,,,came barreling by, honking and waving==== and I got so excited tears started to flow,,,,,,the camera took a beautiful picture of the road.......guess I can't wave and take a picture at the same time.
No idea what is going to happen when I see him in his new uniform the day of his pinning........my daughters said they are going to stuff my blouse with tissues. LOL. And Art is handeling the camera for this event..doesn't want me to even try. LOL

Hi Sailor,, this is Jean, Arts wife,,and I am so relieved, and glad to hear that you heard from Arthur. I am a Red Cross volunteer, and always recommend them, if a military family needs to get communications going, espec in an emergency. So glad they were promt, and you are very welcome!
I want you, the proud Momma to be sure to tell him congratulations on his medal from SeabeeMom Jean, and his promotion to E3! =)

Hi Sailor07...sounds like good news all around.congrats to your son on the award also..... question ! How much longer does your son have in the zone?
Comment by Art Cabral on September 2, 2009 at 10:10am
Sailor, That doesn't sound right. Surely a family member would be notified if a son had been injured. I'd suggest you call your local Red Cross Chapter, ask for a Military Case worker, and ask them to help you obtain information. Good luck, and let us know how your doing!!

Hey Ed...Glad to see you are alive and kickin.Yes,he is really glad to be out of Gulf Port and in Cali.Just got off of the phone with him about 5 minutes ago.He is settling in pretty good.He had a couple of minor complaints about the place but nothing worth getting the panties in a bunch about. His main complaint was that there was only 1 mess hall and he wasn't to thrilled with the food there. The kid loves his chow, trust me!He did say that he will survive.Well that is all for now.....Stay in touch bud! Catch ya later !
