Hello! My son has orders to the CVN-70 and we are all extremely excited.  My husband (who used to serve on the CVN-70 himself) and I are hoping to experience a tiger cruise in the future.  I do have a few questions that I hope someone on here might be able to answer for after his A-school when he reports to the Vinson.  He was thinking on getting his car as well as a few things from home and driving it to the base after A-school.  Is he able to keep his car there on base and will it cost him?  Also, we are planning to go with him in a separate vehicle as he travels to base (we live about 6 hrs away) this way he's not making the drive alone.  Once he is there at base would we (his mom and dad) be allowed to go on base with him? We would probably be arriving on a Friday night and leaving on Sunday morning - is there Navy lodging we could stay at or will we require a hotel off base? Thanks in advance!
