Hi John,

I was a Nuke ET way back in the day and can confirm.   Work, eat, sleep, stand watch.

Hope he can spend some time with you on the TC.

And John, mine is off doing MWR fun stuff in port...not being on email, and sending forms just now isn't a priority, imagine that....

Paul, (really trying to think of a witty comeback but i got nothin....! ) so, anyway, sailor said since my spouse is coming (his Dad) I cannot (his Mom). and gee, we get along and everything lol! Do you think he may have misunderstood? He had originally signed me up, then said "they" said no.

I rather think this is a conspiracy to have a boys couple days..... ;-)

I have heard the same. My son tells me that there is a LCPO for the TC and he has to give them the link to email us. As soon as anyone gets an email with the link, they could post a "heads up" for the rest of us?

Laurie-you are a parent, not a spouse......

Hey Laurie, my sailor son is communicationally challenged as well.  Two reminders so far and no e-mail.

No snail mail here either but your sailor should have emailed you some forms (medical) etc to be scanned and emailed back to him or her....due June 6th. The medical does not need a doctors signature or anything. I have had to remind mine to get it to me! I did hear, though, that spouses can't come, meaning, since my husband is going I am cut. Bummer! But I will be right at the pier waving to all who do go when you get to homecoming!
Sounds like our sailors are having a great time where they are! Great MWR things, interesting place for sure!

Nothing yet, wondering myself!

Has anyone received anything official in regards to the TC email or snail mail? Just need to know if I am missing anything.

 message from the commanding officer

by USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Notes) on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:29pm

Dear IKE Family and Friends,
We have a special CONGRATULATIONS to the 356 IKE Sailors who received news of advancement Wednesday night. IKE has 32 new 1st Class Petty Officers, 130 new 2nd Class Petty Officers and 194 new 3rd Class Petty Officers for this cycle. There were also 162 Sailors advanced in the Carrier Air Wing SEVEN squadrons.  I am thrilled at these Sailors’ success, and I can’t wait to see each and every one of them wearing their new rank!  Bravo Zulu -- WELL DONE! Be sure to congratulate your Sailors when you get a chance.  For those who did not advance, my message is to keep charging because the next exam is right around the corner.
We have another special CONGRATULATIONS to five Senior Chiefs who were selected for advancement to Master Chief Petty Officer Thursday. Their frocking ceremony was held yesterday in the ship’s fo'c'sle. This is a tremendous accomplishment and we are equally thrilled to hear of their great success.
In other news, we have recently announced that IKE will host a "Tiger Cruise" for family and friends of embarked Sailors.  Tiger Cruise is a program that allows Sailors to host friends and family (but not spouses or significant others) aboard ship to see what their Sailor does in the Navy and to see the ship and air wing in action, at sea!  We are planning for an air demonstration as well as dozens of other activities that will be priceless memories that few have ever observed unless they are Sailors themselves.  It is going to be AWESOME!
Because of operational security, we will not put out dates and locations by Facebook, email or phone that our Tigers need to arrange transportation to meet the ship.  Details about ships movement are confidential and cannot be discussed in those mediums.  Our Family Readiness Group does have the dates and locations and can give those details out in face-to-face conversations with known IKE families at their meeting on June the 4th.  Another way that we will correspond and pass that pertinent information is by "snail mail".  Your Sailor will mail a welcome letter from me to you, their prospective Tigers, soon.  I have printed thousands of these letters and you can ask your Sailor if they've dropped your invitation in the mail.  When you receive letter, you will find the dates, times and locations that you will need to arrange for your transportation.  There is some additional necessary information that we need to collect from you.  I'm talking about registration and medical screening forms.  Your Sailor will be sending these documents to you over the internet.  These forms do not have information on the dates and places the ship will be in the future.  When you respond to your Sailor with those documents completed and attached, please do not say "can't wait to see you in XXXXX on XXXX".  That would be an operational security violation that hazards our ship.  Please do get those documents back to us quickly so that we can begin planning your Tiger Cruise!
Advancement ceremonies and events like the Tiger Cruise make our time on deployment a little easier. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing a number of you during the upcoming Tiger Cruise!
Thank you and GREATER EACH DAY, IKE! Captain Marcus Hitchcock
