I used to keep a stack of forms at the house....still must have a dozen or so, along with a bunch of flat rate boxes.  Oh...rolls of bubble wrap as well....

My son said in his last e-mail the phones have been off for several day due to their location...

Amber - I actually keep a care box open in my computer room.  As I am out or get requests for item I put hem in it.  When its full, off it goes.  Its a new system so it hasn't been tried and tested.  Another cool tip is to have a customs form handy so you can itemize as you fill the box.  I get to the PO and don't remember at ALL what's in the box...

Hi fellow IKE followers,I dont know how many of us are sending care packages to our sailors but the USPS will sent you boxes, tape and I think(not sure) mailing labels.www.usps.com. ask for military shipping supplies.Hope this helps someone.

My care package is getting pushed back to tomorrow as far as sending it...lol i keep getting messages from my husband, telling me things that his buddies want/need...I have sooo much stuff that its not going to fit in just one box! I am going to need help with the customs forms because the first time i filled it out wrong..i looked at the care packages forum..lol but i think i need the post officeto help me..lol! Good to hear they are getting there in about 13 days though! :D

Way to go Amber !!!  Remember that you need a customs form on that package....the folks at a Post Office can help you with that if you need

learning and dealing with these sorts of things is what makes Military families so strong.....when flying combat ops, the days for some rates can be 18 hours long....that does not leave much computer time when competing with things like sleep, grub, laundry and all the other things your sailors have to do on cruise....send some real letters and be sure to send care packages......if you have not checked out the care package group, do so

Oh Jeez....I worry about him enough..Fingers crossed we dont have to go three weeks without hearing from our loved ones!

Thank you Paul..it does help..i started to figure out the shorter the email the less chance that it gets kicked back. I just hate sending short ones because he says he really looks forward to reading them.

remember that all email needs to be routed through the ship's sat system at sea.....if military business occupies all the bandwidth, then email goes away.  Also...email can be shut down due to OPSEC needs...before Karzai visited my son's carrier, email was shut down for almost 3 weeks prior to minimize security leaks
