Amber, you seem like you've done this before.  I wrapped his cookies in saran wrap, but didn't do the bread deal.  They are in a tupperware bowl, 3 actually, that he has no place for.  Oh well...

Thanks for the ideas...I miss my boy!

when you send cookies i was told..if you dont have a vaccume sealer..put them in a ziplock baggie with a slice of bread and wrap it in saran wrap it should keep the cookies from getting stale :) I'm canning peaches for him from his grandmothers orchard..shh..its a suprise! :)

Something my husband asked for is soft toilet paper..i guess they only have the rough stuff. Also He Loves the powder gatorade that you mix with bottled water, mio energy..anything that has a long shelf life and can sustain heat..depending on how you send it i hear it takes two to three weeks sometimes for them to get the care packages. He also asked for more boxers, and long black haynes socks..they wear black socks with their uniforms and my husband goes through them really fast by wearing holes in them. playing cards, magazines (trucks, guns, cars, motorcycles..exc.) .I dont know if this gives any of you any ideas but is there something that your sailor has been asking for?

My husband is MM3 (Machinest Mate) Presley

Allen,  Is there anything you think Chris would like?  My son likes thumb print cookies.

Great!  This will totally wig the both of them out, but I'll include something for Chris.

Allen, If you will tell me more aout your sailor, I'll put something in my box for him/her.  Maybe a card too...I SO appreciate what our sailors are doing out there.

That's SO funny!  I am working on a care package that will go out Thursday.  Does anyone know how long it takes for a package to get to our sailors?

Tell me what your sailors do on the Eisenhower...

Can I just say that I am really new to military deployment life.  I never realized how much we as families sacrifice when our sailors are deployed.  I have also seen forst hand how hard it is on our sailors to miss special events.  My sailor missed the birth of his sisters daughter by 3 days.  He won't get to see her intil she is a year old,  That messed him up a bit...Have you experienced that?
