Otto. Thanks for posting your comment. I copied it and sent it to my daughter. Proudly, I can say that she was one of the sailors that was manning the rail in the picture you posted. As her mother and I stood on the pier that morning, our heart was both heavy with sadness that she leaving and also filled with pride for her committment. Thanks again for your comments and best wishes for all the other family members during this time.

I'd like to take a moment to thank all those aboard the Truman for standing watch this Memorial Day Weekend insuring our freedom and the liberties we hold dear. I know they would rather be home with their Navy families, so I'm proud they make the sacrifices for the rest of us. The same applies to all who serve their nation. Hooyah Navy! Fair winds and following seas Team Truman during this holiday honoring our nations best.

Welcome aboard Scott, you should contact Dusty about the steps to join HST FRG or follow the guide on the Truman website. Helpful group. What is your son's rate/rank?

Hello everyone, my son is normally on the USS Roosevelt but is going to be temporaily assigned on the USS Truman for two months. He is pretty excited since the Roosevelt is dry docked and this will be his first voage.

My son got to come home on leave from April 2-15 ... that was such a great time! It is pretty tough knowing I wont see him again until who knows when. God bless all the young men and women on the Truman ... make sure you all come back safely to your families.

Thanks, Bob. Boy, we must have "passed" each other at Gate 5. Just kidding. I'll probably be back out there in a few months as well. Take carel.
