Oh Geez, I thought it was last week judging by the article on that Thai website...can't remember where I saw it, but, I got the link from navydads.com. They were warned about the 'lady boys' and the jet ski scams...which are off limits. It is a shame when they finally get into a port it is open season on them...they have to be really careful.

Thailand tomorrow. We received a call from our son today. Sounds like everyone on the Reagan is doing well and ready to get home. So we should receive phone calls tomorrow. HooYah!

Anyone hear any stories about Thailand? My son is ready to be home, he said they were relieved by the Nimitz so they are officially on the way home.

I am really having a GOOD day. Justen is going to come home the end of October. I will purchase his ticket tomorrow. We always do it this way and have him pick up the ticket at the airport. He brings the airfare with him. Then when he gets home we go out and buy special food he wants. Then the rest of the money can be used as needed or put back into savings. He is getting his life back together. Finnaly got the insurance money from his bike being stolen the Saturday prior to deployment. Hed had it less than a month. To top that off it was stolen between 6 and 7 am on the day the GPS tracker was to be installed. He is waiting for the next port. I think knowing how close it is to coming back to home port made him home sick He was not coming home until New years.I am glad that changed. Counting the days to home coming and then leave to come home.

Hello parents,
I had a phone call at 5:30 am today. It was pure music to my ears. What a great sound with good quality. Justen has been to the water park and to the mall. He did not snow ski in the mall. He is not sure why anyone would live there. It was 118 degrees and the humidity was 70%. He had a couple of nice meals but was disappointed in the quality of food with such high prices. He spoke of home coming and up coming ports. He is happier out to sea as each day brings him closer to SD. I think he is not taking leave when they pull into home. He wants to come home at Christmas. He has not been home for Christmas since 2005. I may plan a week or ten days off then. It will be worth the wait. Here is hoping everyone gets a phone call.

Hello everyone, Have you read the Great communicator on the ships web site? I wonder why no message from the last day or so. R & R finally and much deserved. I have the cell phone on waiting for a phone call.

Well justen is very happy with his battery operated fan. He said it makes his bunk more like home. He likes to run a fan. I guess he got that from having a ceiling fan in his room for years. I just know his emails are the happiest i have heard this deployment. Hope all the sailors had their packages catch up with them.
