Saw this last night on the Navy page... USS Ronald Reagan Celebrates Reactor Milestone
Hi Ronald Reagan Sailor dads. My daughter Chelsea said there is water under the ship again, and they have moved the ship to a different spot at the port. She said the RR is beginning to look more like her old self, and less like a construction zone. Chelsea is ready to get back to San Diego and under deployment.
I have heard from my son. He says the sail up was wicked awesome (can you tell he's from Boston), they manned the rails going into Puget Sound and he was impressed with the support along the shoreline, says he's in a barracks with a room mate from South Carolina (go Gamecocks) and says he's very busy loading and unloading, lot s to do.
My son told me before they left San Diego that the nukes would probably have to stay on the ship for a few days after their arrival in Bremerton
I've sent my son a couple of text messages. None have been answered yet. I guess the nukes are really busy.
Has anyone heard from their sailor since they arrived in Bremerton? My daughter texted me when they departed from San Diego, telling me that they would be very busy the next 20 days, and she probably wouldn't be able to call or text. Thanks.
Thank you for the info. Happy holidays to all. Crystal, the cookout sounds good, my son is from Boston so he would get a kick out of it also.
Speical Dinners are done ahead of the actual date. My son always said the holiday itself was slim pickens. Many of the sailors with apartments and families invite others to share. My son and his room mate always grilled and did a summer type meal. They thought it was fun beacuse they are from Pa. and Md. land of the frozen.
