Hi Terry,we are not sure.Everything keeps changing as we are talking about the military! His unit was supposed to leave this A.M. but as of the last I heard it was later this eve.At first they were supposed to be there 7 months, but now it looks like it might be closer to 10 months.James says that timeline also is not definate so we will just have to wait and see.

Tell your nieces husband thanks for his service and together as a nation we will get thru this!!!!!

Steve, how long will James be deployed to Afghanistan? My wife's niece's husband will be going over in the next week or so. He's a Marine sargeant and loves the service. He was a door kicker in Iraq clearing houses for over 7 months. God bless.

Hey Terry,James shouldn't have that problem. He is pretty much ready to get out of the barracks.I think as soon as they get back from Afghanistan he will just move his gear into some new digs!
He was frocked the day after he got back from home so I am sure that he is ready!!!!

Steve, they did the same thing with Justin. As soon as they heard he was engaged and was thinking of getting married, they told him to hurry up so they could give his room to someone else but it took them over 2-3 weeks to get it all straightened out. Of course, it was partly his blame...he continued to fail in his check out inspection!!

Hey, Carl...that's great to hear about your son graduating and then coming to Bangor! We were so stoked when he got word he was assigned here. We really do count ourselves blessed that we can see him almost every other weekend after he's done with his long 7-day shift.

Hello there. This is a good week. My son graduates from his last school in Kings Bay on Friday. He then heads home to here in Washington where he will be station at Bangor. I'm really looking forward to seeing him again in the next week or so!

Hey Terry, I think the one thing James is looking forward to is moving out of the barracks.Seems that once they make petty officer on his base, is that command tries to get them to move off base to make room for some of the lower ranks.Doesn't make sense to me though as James has been there 8 or 9 months and he never has had a roommate. Go figure!!!!

Thanks, Steve & Scott. He will be frocked soon too. He likes the extra monthly cash too!
