Steve, Welcome to the AO group!

When we visited our son for his homecoming Thanksgiving week, we stayed at Wyndham Garden San Diego. Nothing fancy really more like a nice cozy motel which includes free guest parking. On-site there's Du-par's Restaurant & Bakery (open 24 hours). Phil's BBQ is right across the street and lots of other dining options in the area. Real close to SeaWorld (our sailor got free admission) and roughly ten minutes to and from Naval Base San Diego.

Hope this helps...

Hello.  1st time here.  We are planning a trip to San Diego in early April to see our sailor.  My wife and I and our AO daughter's sister.  Is anyone familiar with the area and can recommend a good place to rent something reasonable?  I'm thinking Mission beach area.  Any comments or suggestions?

There ia ATT school for some of the ratings at Pensacola.  My daughter completed her ATT at Pensacola for the AO rating.

boot camp is separate from all other training.  No one goes to anything before completing boot camp.....

Paul , so you are saying 6 weeks @ GL after PIR but before leaving for A school or is this time of ATT running concurrent with boot camp training?
