Welcome Aboard!
My name is E.G. and I have three sons and a beautiful daughter. I also have the most amazing wife, Cindy. Our oldest son "Evan" served as an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca and my family and I couldn't have been prouder.
My Navy Dads journey began when my son enlisted in April, 2008. I started building NavyDads.Com while he was still a recruit at RTC in Great lakes. I designed, built, and launched NavyDads.com June 18, 2008, two days before his Navy graduation.
My hope is that this site will help Navy Families find answers to questions, share concerns, help another along, and lastly, a place to show their pride for their Sailor.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
Thank you very much for the comment. We are proud of our daughter. She carefully looked at each branch of the military and felt that the Navy fit her best. It is going to be a new journey for us all. However, my wife has brothers who have been in every branch of the service and we are members of our local Fleet Reserve Association. So, we have plenty of support! I am very glad you created this site. It is a great resource.
Thanks for your warmth welcome. Like u said about your son that you are very proud , I feel the same way. Thanks your son also for serving this great country of ours.
E. G., thanks for the welcome and for creating this site. I looks like it will be invalueable in keeping up with things and getting questions answered for parents who have experienced some stuff I wll be going through.
Well thank you very much. I already had a page but it didnt want to come up. I am part of the moms site. But pop in here from time to time. My son is a Seabee. He has been in sice 1998 so I got all thins stuff down pretty well. Its is what it is.
Thank You for the "Welcome Aboard", I'm thrilled there is a site like this for the dads, looking forward to sharing, thoughts, ideas and general comments, thanks again....

Thanks! Looks like you've done a great job here. It will take me quite a while to check it all out. One question . . . Navy For Moms seemed quite concerned about not posting your last name if it's the same as your sailor. Here's a cut & paste from there guidelines:
The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter. If you scan in a picture of an article that contains your Sailor’s last name, make sure to black it out first. If it is an online Navy article or news article that you are reposting, do not publicly identify the mentioned Sailor as your son or daughter.
Is that not a valid concern??
Thanks for developing this site! I'm getting ready to order one of your shirts so I can show off! ;-)
A woman is given the title of Mom by god himself so it has made me aware that no one can take her place. We have reared our children to be something and to all the mom's and Dads...
I salute you on a job welll done.
No problem on the names, I was just curious about the differing policies. As far as Google Earth goes, it's nothing close to real-time data . . . the views of my neighborhood are over a year old. I think the only value it may have to someone intent on causing damage would be where ships could/have been berthed.
Thank You, Do you know waht its like when every one is against you and your son enlisteing/ A grandfater offering key to his late model Chrysler Im[perial, He took the token aand gave back the keys, he work as a bus boyat bar to help pay his way thru Ohio State he cleaned the Stasdium like other navy cadetsHe's my Son
Thank You E.G

Thank you for having me as a member here and a big Thank you to everyones sons and daughters for their service . God Bless Them and keep them safe .

Thanks for making this site. Yesterday my little girl just called home, ending her second week at OCS and she's "all growed up." Her little brother is heading out on the FFG-42 Klakring this summer.

Thanks for the welcome E.G. My son Kelly arrived in GL on 4/15. We are just waiting now for the box and letter to arrive. We found out this morning that he's been assigned to ship 11 div 212. I am really missing him right now and am looking forward to seeing him at graduation. I'm glad that you started this site - I think there was probably a real need for it. He'll do his A school in Gulf Port - he's going to be a Sea Bee.
Thank you EG and thanx to your son as well for his service to our nation's safety.
My brother is very proud of his little girl as are the rest of us in her decision to keep with the Navy tradition.
Hey EG, how's life treating you. My Sailor is busy doing his 6 months of schooling. He is going to be graduating in June and will be part of the second squadron to work on the new P8 which are taking over the P3-Orions. He's settled in and we are blessed that he is 4 hours from home. My Navy Pride has not diminished one bit, just praying for a Hell of a lot better Commander in Chief. Take good care and God Bless. Luis
How is Evan and the rest of your crew?
Just returned from a visit to Andrew on Oahu!! What a neat thing to have a peek into his Navy life. What nice friends he has! Wht nice things the folks at the chapel on the Marine base said about our son!!!!
Thank you for creating these website:NavyDads and Navy4Moms. It has helped our family so much. My son is in the DEP program since April. He just turned 18 and will be graduating from high school in June. So this has been a wild ride for me...lol. But I am so proud of my son and I tell him this as often as I can - especially without crying...lol..Thanks again - I have learned so much from these sites...
Thanks E.G. I have read a lot of the concerns and it gives me some thoughts and insight so when Stephen does call we'll ask him about them. He is so laid back and takes things in stride. He has passed all of his water survival stuff and waiting to class forward. The way it sounds there are many just waiting around and are so anxious to achieve and experience the world. What a great bunch of young people!!!!
Thank you, your site has grown alot. Is it possible to be in
Corpsman and FMTB at the same time?
Trying to keep up with Ted is a full time job, he loves the
Navy and they are good for him.

Thanks for the welcome EG. My son is not in the Navy any longer. He Separated due to a defective enlistment 7 weeks into boot camp. I came here to offer my help after starting a separations group on NFM.Moms of separating recruits were subject to attack rather than support then, so I started a Separations support group 2 years ago. Have learned a lot.
E.G.
Thanks you for caring enough to go to the trouble to designing this site.. It has already provided me with some much needed info. I look forward to more.
Thanks again,
Greg
Thanks for the welcome. I've known about Navy Dads for some time but hung out over at Navy Moms as I've wondered if the Dad's needed to have their "guy space". Thanks for making me feel welcome.
Thank you for the warm welcome. As I sit here waiting for the 'I'm a Sailor' call, any connection with the navy parents is definitely a plus so we are the ones on the sidelines who all stand in support of the ones who service our country.
The national security advisor has resigned. I'm very concerned for our sailors, especially in the far East, given the torpedoing of the South Korean naval vessel. You should know that Iran is working on new, high speed torpedoes, and that Hugo Chavez is buy diesel subs from the Russians. We need to pay attention.
Thank you .
We are planning on the whitesox game but our son or the recruiter did not know much so I went to Navy for moms and found out allot of info there. We are now trying hard to get into the diner as well I sent off next day to Great Lakes for tickets sounds promising ..Should be a interesting time. Thanks for creating this as this network will become VERY important later on .

My son recently graduated bootcamp. I was just soaking in the Navymoms stuff like a sponge. I related, but feeling it like a mom? Fwhewwwweeee! thank you creator, and I love you man. Since I found your site, YEAH, you speaka my language. ha ha ha. Jeremy will be a Corpsman and soon to wear the marine uniform with red crosses. In the ministry I've learned a life of serving people. Jeremy will serve in restoring life and giving brothers and sisters another chance. Yeah the pride busts out of the screen for sure. But not more or less than every other parent that stands proud of the red, white,& blue commitment our young have made. Hu-rahhh!
My wife has been on Navy Moms for quite some time and I too thought that there would be a Navy Dads site as well, so thank you for doing this. I know it's a great deal of work and I really appreciate it.
Thank you for the encouragement. I am concerned for my daughter. I guess I'm just a spoiled dad. Until "Boot Camp", she has called me every single day to make sure her dad was ok. I know she's doing well.
Thanks EG ---you know of anyone you understand how just an idea can blossem into an all out full blown amazing thing --look at you navy dads site !! I know how much time and effort you have put into it --- Thanks for the welcome !! It feels like home here ---low keyed and friendly !!
Thank you sir, finding this site made my day,my son has been serving for the past 12 years so there have been long stints where we could not communicate, this is an ideal location in those times,Thank you again.

Thank you E.G. for your support and efforts through creating this sight. My son has had the goal to serve his country through the Navy since he was a Jr. in high school. I look forward to seeing every members experience of their son and daughter and sharing support through this sight and sharing my experiences and support through my sons service and dedication to our country. GO NAVY! Thank you to all those serving to protect our freedom.
E.G. thanks some of my real need is to heal my heart at letting my youngest go off on his great adventure..........without me,but we are working thru it with help from great people like yourself and others that have welcomed me thanks again
i do have a question about recruiters how truthfull are they. are they like used car salesmen tell you anything to get the sale. my daughter was told with her job that she could have choice of bases. was just wondering how comon this was. she is a yeoman any help is appreciated keith
Thanks for your comments, I'm new on the site and I got so many good words for the Welcome. My son will be soon on the Navy for his boot camp in Chicago.
