Hello Tim,
We haven't chatted in awhile and I wanted to check in and see how things were going for Trevor. I remember that he had graduated A-School in May and was expected to be on hold for some time. Is he still waiting for orders? I hope he and his little family are doing well. Billy is doing great. He just finished the 2nd of 4 C-Schools. He was just home on leave for a few days until the next class starts up. He's still anxious to finish his schooling and report to his ship. The USS Howard (DDG83) is on deployment right now with the Ronald Reagan Carrier Support Group 7. They're due back in S.D. about the time Billy will be done with his C-Schools.
Hi Tim, sorry its taken so long to get back to you, its been real busy in the recruiting bussiness lately. As to your question, it is true that the navy is not excepting tier 2 schools at this time. I tell all of my interested applicants that if the Navy is what they want that they need to enrole in a tier 1 school and graduate. the tier levels are given by an education evaluator at each recruiting district. Tier 1 schools are traditional high schools. Tier 2 schools are alternative or schools that assighn work to be turned in every day but you dont attend a class every day. If this is not the case with the school he is attending it needs to be reevaluated by the education specialist for that district. I hope this helps.
Hello Tim
My son,Collin just completed 11th grade so he is ready to start talking to his recruiter. His appt is next Monday. He plans to DEP until his graduation in June 2011. How far backed up is the Navy? I mean how long will he wait between signing and boot camp? Also, could you recommend books or training aide for ASVAB? Any questions I should ask recruiter? Thanks for your help, His mother and I are behind him 100% and of course we want whats best for him. Tom

Hey Tim, thanks for the intro. Wow, one son already serving and another DEP in training. Hope he is taking advantage of any local 'boat crew" PT programs as SWCC gets physical. The vessels themselves are simply amazing.
Thanks Tim,
I'm sure with the help from everyone here we will be able to successfully get through to PIR.
My son (JOE) is leaving for boot camp Nov. 1st. His mother and I are very proud, excited, and nervous. As I told Paul, we are looking forward to meeting some on the new moms and dads. Thanks again for your support
I am very happy to have reached this site. I am a green Recruit Dad, and seem to have walked into the answers I've been looking for, regarding how and why certain things happen from the recruits standpoint.
My pride runs over, mostly for Dylan, but also for all men and women of the Military branches.
I look foward to continuing education from your page. I'ts just what I've been searching for.
