Yes I am also on NavyforMoms. Being a seaman recruit mom I find the Dad's site more straight forward. I am a 'give me the facts' kind of mom. Not huge on the chit chat...at least not yet. :) I got to be me! :)
Agreed about Nfm. I am more excited for my Son's adventure then I am sad for myself. He has been discussing the military since 8th grade so as parents we were some what prepared for this decision. We have had wonderful and positive letters and phone calls throughout BC. PIR is 1/14/2011 then heading to A school in Texas for MA. Last phone call he said that he was promoted and is an E3.
Italy! cool. Is he on a ship? If you don't mind me asking, where did you son go directly after BC and school? I know that we won't know until the end of school but curious how that will work.
Thanks for sharing! Hope you get a chance to go to Italy and visit while taking advantage of the country. Cool.
I am in the PIR group and the ship group etc on NfM. I spend more of my time learning more about the Navy then weeding through the conversations. That is why I like this site. I'm feeling pretty comfortable about what's up for my Son...special thanks to the two web sites!! It will be fun to see what defined path he chooses once in A school.
Thanks again for reaching out to me Jess. Appreciated! Honestly it is one of the best Mom conversation I've had in weeks. refreshing :)
He probably is in for music, he marched with high school band from 7th grade on through his senior year and was All-District trombone for 6 years and All-State in trombone for 2 years.
Wife got his box today, so things are moving right along.
JKB ship 11 div 061
Thanks Jess for the info.
