My family and I moved to Houston Texas from Alberta Canada coming on six years ago. All family members want to give someting back to the US as we live in the greatest Nation in the world. Besides our son now in Navy Boot Camp, Great Lakes, I am Active in the Texas State Guard. Being in the International Drilling industry for over 23 years, including living overseas, it becomes clear to me and family, the want to provide a service to this country, we call home.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
Proud and respectful of his own choice in life to join the US Navy. In addition as I roamed through webs sites all the feelings that a family <> Dad experiences when a child joins the service. In addition wanted to link to other fathers who have the same interest in supporting thier sons and daughters as they journey into Navy life.

Gordon, Welcome to NavyDads. My Grandson Joined the Navy and went to Boot Camp in February, 2008. When I joined I knew nothing about the Military and this site has really helped me understand what to expect and has relieved some of the worries I had. Please go to the Groups Page and check out all of the different Groups and join in to learn more about what you Guy or Gal will be learning and doing. We are a big family here and you can find answers to most any question or concern you may have regarding what is in store for you recruit. You will find others that are new to the Navy along with those that have Loved Ones that has been in for some time. We like to hear about you recruit the good times, the concerns and the questions. I think you will find that our member are just a great big family and everyone wants to help others understand what to expect and hear how your recruit is doing.
