I am a 57 year old sales rep. for a medical device company in southern california. I am also a captain in thew us civil air patrol, the uniformed auxiliary of the us air force. My sailor to be is actually my daughter in law, married to oldest son. She is currently in boot camp at Geat Lakes, and has been selected as a section leader and laundry petty officer. She graduates Aug. 26th, then reports to A school in Virginia Beach to be an operations specialist. She and my son have been married for 2 years now, and she is more like a daughter than a daughter in law. We are hoping that she gets assigned to the pacific fleet in San Diego, but will be very proud of her regardless of where her first duty station is.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:

I come from a family with a military background. My father is a former Marine aviator ( retired after Korea as a Captain, USMCR ), and I am a captain in the us civil air patrol, the uniformed auxiliary of the us air force. Naturally my wife and I were extremely proud of our daughter in law and son. She is a very motivated individual, and I have no doubt that she will have a very properous Naval career.
