A very proud dad of a dedicated Navy sailor! He started on the maiden voyage of the USS Ronald Reagan from Virginia to San Diego. After 5 years in her service, he came stateside for a time as a recruiter to begin raising his daughters. He is currently serving on the USS George Washington.

    Ric, Welcome to NavyDads. My Grandson Joined the Navy and went to Boot Camp in February, 2008. When I joined I knew very little about the Military. This site has helped me understand what to expect and relieved some of my worries I had. Please go to the Groups Page and check out all of the different discussions. Join in to learn more and meet others whose guys or girls are the same Rate as your Loved One. We like to hear about your Sailor; the good times, the concerns, and the questions.     Ric, be sure to check out our Groups. We have several Groups for PIR and Boot Camp, plus Groups for the different Rates like Navy Nukes, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), Master at Arms. Check to see if your State or area has a Group already formed to locate others in your area. There are general interest Groups like: Care Packages,
    A School for Dads, NASCAR for NavyDads and the book of acronyms and ranks. We’ve also added a Spanish language Group.

    Thanks for the Friends Request. Glad you found us and joined. We are always talking about projects to do on this site to help members new and the seasoned. I am not that good with photos so I will keep you in mind. I am learning more about the different Rates in the Navy so I can try to help others, my guy is a SEAL so can't talk much about him.
