Thank you for all the information Tim! This is all pretty new to me, but my son has wanted this for along time. After college he told me that to join the Navy is what he wants to do. The Ceremony after Boot Camp was fantastic. He has now been in San Diego for 3months in SWCC training and is doing well. It is a tough road ahead of him, but I know he can do it. This is a proud and very supportive family we have joined and we will always back all of our Servicemen and women. God Bless you and all of our Service members.
Can't find anything thing that prohibits me from promoting Naval products I have on EBay for sale, would like to share the opportunity to purchase these items at a fraction of the cost.
Thank you Tim for your reply and I have been able to get a response from my son that he is ok which is what I was seeking. I have passed along how proud I am of him to serve his country and what an honour that is. You can tell I am new to this and appreciate the Navy Dads Admin to help me navigate my questions/concerns. Thank you again, Ellen
Thanks Tim for the welcome. Being Air Force myself for ten years has been a big help for dealing with Daniels Enlistment, but there's still so much information about the Navy I need to find out, that's for sure. The one thing I have found since he enlisted is that I sure miss the companionship/Camaraderie of the Military family. It is truly unique. That's why I'm glad I found this site........ looking forward to sharing with all the pride of being a Navy Dad.
Cool, alot of military history there. We're from California, came to Enid (Vance AFB) by way of Anchorage Alaska (Elmendorf AFB). When it came time to get out we decided we liked Oklahoma, and adopted it as home. It's been a good place to raise the kids. Hey, we've got some friends that live in Shawnee. I'm not going to ask if you know them, I always feel like that's a dumb question when I get ask it because I know Shawnee is big and you probably don't know everyone... lol Until later...... Mark
Thanks all for the warm welcoming to the site. In the name of my family and sepecialy my son Samuel future US Sailor THANKS! We pray for all of them and for those who already served our belovers veterans like my father-in-law Enrique Ruiz, WWII Korean veteran. GOD BLESS ALL...
Tim, "roller coaster" is right! Christopher's choices for his future have always leaned toward the death-defying kind! We can not and would not ever want to stand in the way of his destiny, but he keeps us on our knees! :)
Thank you for the welcome and all the great information. I am just finding time now to get on the site and figure out how to communicate. Just heard from our SR today and he is doing well. Feels he was very prepared for RTC. Apparently some others in his division are having a harder time adjusting and under estimated how much conditioning they needed to do before showing up at RTC. I will pass on you thanks to Cam.
Thanks for the warm greeting. I appreciate all the advice on how to use Navy Dads website to gain more understanding of the military and more specifically the Navy.
Thank you all for your warm welcome. I am happy to have found this site. I have so much to learn and share with my son, My wife and I are both missing his presence so much, but we are super proud that he came to the decision to join on his own. Again, thank you all for the welcome.
Happy to report to you, Tim, that my son, Andy, received his Aviation Warfare Pin and also advanced to Petty Officer 3rd Class (E3 to E4)! HOOYAH!! GO NAVY!!
Thank you all for your kind words and helpful information, really looking forward to becoming part of the famil! Also a heartfelt thanks to all of your family members serving our great nation, without them we would have nothing!
A litttle about my son Joey. He graduated the "Nuke" program in October, he was chosen as the Section Leader thru Prototype and was then awarded the "Outstanding Military Bearing" award at graduation. He graduated in the Top 10% of his class overall, in my book this makes him a very dedicated and valuable asset to our Navy, hope they see it that way as well. Ok, enough bragging, sorry...
His Grandfather and Great Grandfather both served in the Navy as well, G.G. served on the Boxer in WWII. His Great Uncle was blown off the deck of a ship at Pearl Harbor where he was serving as a Sea Bee. He survived and fought bravely in WWII as well. Ok, enough history, lol.
Joey has two wonderful sisters who admire him, one graduated Wilkes College and is studying to become a Nurse Practitioner(she also just gave me a grandson!). Baby Sis is a sophmore at R.I.T. in the Chemical Engineering program. As you can see I am very blessed & proud of my children, afterall they are all we really leave behind when we go. Pretty sure I'm leaving the wood pile higher than I found it...
Thanks , Tim and everyone else for the overwhelming response to my signining up on 'Navy Dads'. I'm actually a Grandfather to two of the finest sailors (Tim & Ryan) in the Navy. They are doing a super good job, as are all the rest of our military personell. Thanks. This Navy Dads will take a bit of learnining, but I'm sure I'll get it. You guys have been helpful in you comments and suggestions as how to navigate all this. I'll get tips from my son (Will) as well. For now- thanks!!! p.s. Just call me Bill Or Wild Bill.
Thany you Tim for the welcome aboard. BZ to you as well for your son's commitment.
I served 9 years myself 88-97. I am very confident my son will find his way in life with the Foundation the Navy will provide. Do you know of Groups that have the same PIR and Div as my Son's? PIR 02FEB13 Ship 12 Div 089
Thanks Paul, Calvin, Jim, Gary, & Tim for the well wishes & all the great info! Between this site & Navymoms my wife & I are so grateful for these fantastic resources! We were clueless & starving for info so we can be better informed & knowledgeable proud Navy parents. Like everyone we were nervous but are now more excited than anything. Our son Brian has always wanted to serve his country in the Navy. My nephew served on the Eisenhower & is now a NYPD police officer and this is Brian's mentor. His uncles & grandfather were police, firefighters, & merchant marines. Civil service is his calling for sure! Thanks again everyone!
Tim, Thanks for the info, Was nice to come home from work and find it. i'm sure I will be spending a lot of time here. Already msiing my baby girl. It's just a little hard not being able to check on her even though I know she's in great hands.
Thank you!! I am very excited to browse the site and am grateful it is available to me and my family. The few things I have read have been informative to me and my son. I am so excited for him and this great opportunity he is about to embark on.

We just dropped my daughter off for the last time after PIR, so I will now have time to go through the whole website and hopefully experience everything.
I am finding new things on this site all the time. I really appreciate all the help and support. I didn't really expect all that much when I found the site, but have been pleasantly surprised since then.

Thank you very much. This site is the most informative site i have found.i just baked 250 cookie and was getting ready to send them tomorrow and was gonna send jelly beans.I will hold off on that now. thank you
Greetings, and thanx Tim. I appreciate the friendliness of this page, and the willingness of other parents to answer questions. The only thing I wish this page had was a weekly group of pics that followed the new SR's through Bootcamp. I just had a nephew that graduated from the Army Boot. They had a page dedicated to the new class, and posted week 1, week 2, etc... Is there such a thing here, or have I just not found it? Thanx again for all your info, and help.... Randy Lewis.
Thank you for your warm welcome. My son, SR McClure, Sean M, is going into his 3rd week of boot camp. He is currently aboard Ship 2 (USS Reuben James) Division 926. At this time, we have not heard from him at all. I understand this is normal but, I'm not having much luck reassuring his mother. Again, thank you for your personal welcome and I look forward to sharing his progress in the near future.
thanks Tim I wil seeing the boys on 4/12/13 at graduation. thank I will let them now. I have a feeling that I will not beable to see them on saterdaay that they have to report to a school in Texas.
Thanks Tim. I'm looking forward to connecting & learning as much as I can from all of you Veteran Navy parents. Take care & enjoy the rest of your week.
TIM,THANKS FOR THE GREETING. MY SON IS IN 812, I DID NOT POST HIS REAL FIRST NAME BUT YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY. HE IS ON HIS JOURNEY AND HAS WANTED TO DO THIS SINCE 8TH GRADE. I AM A LIFE MEMBER OF UDT/SEAL ASSC BUT A NON SEAL...LONG STORY, BUT AGAIN THANK YOU.
Thanks for the welcome Tim. Christopher Arrived at Great Lakes on 5/13/13. We are just waiting on address information so we can write. Just confused as to when and how we can get that info.
