Mike, thanks for the kind words on Saturday! I too didn't expect it to hit me this hard. But when you love someone as much as we do our sons it is to be expected. I make no apologies either for my emotions! By my way of thinking, holding it back is not manly, it is a sure fire way of developing ulcers!

Additionaly, I admire you tremendously for raising your son single handedly. Putting your own loss aside to be strong for your son was a blessing. In doing so, you are now reaping the rewards: an outstanding young man who is making his dad proud and soon even prouder when he marches by you in PIR! Joining the military is a road least traveled but a calling unparalleled!

I agree and look forward to "sticking" together throughout the process. It is such a blessing and comfort to have "family" to lean on during those times when we lose site of the end state and are more focused on the current lonely moments. No matter how tough now, we will endure and someday look back at this and remember a process that built our boys into men. God bless and keep your son as well as all sons and daughters serving our great country!

BTW, I forgot to add, my son too has his degree in Criminal Justice and is going in as an E3. He is going to IT A school when he finishes boot camp. That will be in Pensacola however.
