Welcome to NavyDads Susan ! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric just returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat returned last fall from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Susan this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Justin is doing! Best Regards- Paul
Susan- I happened to read your post to EG and saw you mention your uncle and the USS Franklin. I am currently reading a book about the Franklin and the USS Santa Fe and would recommend it highly if you are interested in learning more about the amazing story of the ship and what they endured: it is called LUCKY LADY and is written by Steve Jackson and published by Carroll and Graf. I picked it up at Borders and is a very interesting read for sure!
Hi, susan I wish I was in Lassen county right now, until I leaveI for Great Lakes, love the beauty of this part of CA. My daughter Ashley will be PIR October 16th 2009. I am soooo proud. Can't wait too see her, as she transitions to a Sailor.
