- LOL He told me he wanted to join almost a year ago, and I didn't know what to say. He said he had been looking into this for a long time and had an answer for all my and my wife's questions, he did his homework. He started boot on 2011-5-4 so I'm a little scared and very Proud. Update: PIR'd 7/1/2011 and now at Goose Creek, SC for A school.

Hi Mike,
I saw your posting that you received a form letter indicating that your son will be graduating on July 1st. Congratulations in advance!
My son is also in basic now. We have not yet received a form letter but I was wonder when your son first reported to basic? My son reported May 4th - who knows, they might be bunk mates!

Thanks for the quick reply. We are in California so may take another day or two for the letter to reach us.
Very excited and, of course, anxious - not being able to communicate with them while they are in training makes the time just drag by! But, as I've read, no news is good news...
