Got a letter today, written Monday the 22nd. Says that someone told on someone for something and no one would confess, so they all lost phone privilages until Sept. 2nd after Battlestations...She says her ultimate goal now is to get out of there on time. She gets over stressed when it comes to tests.. :) And she knows the next one (on the 30th) is a very important one. One chance and if you don't pass.. it's back 2 weeks with another division.
Got a letter Saturday, and another today.. She says they are really busy.. and she is concerned about her ankle. she got that cellulosis early on and has been on meds pretty much the whole time. She fears that she will be set back 2 weeks so she is trying her best to "train through the pain" as she puts it. Her other concern from a couple weeks ago was the 3rd written test. That was scheduled for today, and I will stick with the no news is good news theory. She said they did the gas chamber on the 25th and she was on the first row. She said she was nervous, but after they took off the mask it really wasn't that bad. Then they had to do "drill" with the masks off for an emergency and get on the ground.. THATS when it hit, instantly eyes swelled and she had to spit really bad.. everything was on fire. For some reason she said the first row was there about 2 minutes longer then the rest. she said they all looked like a train ran over them for the rest of the day. Best I can tell. BS will be Wednesday and we should get the "I'm a Sailor" call sometime Thursday afternoon. Kinda funny but I hope I dont get a call untill Thursday, if you know what I mean. I hope all is going well with Christina.
In case you haven't heard yet.. We now have sailors in Chicago..I didn't personally get the call, but her Boyfriend and Mom did.. Only a week to go, and we get to see them!!!
