Welcome Aboard!

My name is E.G. and I have three sons and a beautiful daughter. I also have the most amazing wife, Cindy. Our oldest son "Evan" served as an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca and my family and I couldn't have been prouder.

My Navy Dads journey began when my son enlisted in April, 2008. I started building NavyDads.Com while he was still a recruit at RTC in Great lakes. I designed, built, and launched NavyDads.com June 18, 2008, two days before his Navy graduation.

My hope is that this site will help Navy Families find answers to questions, share concerns, help another along, and lastly, a place to show their pride for their Sailor.

Elmo, thanks for the kind words and introductory message.  I've invested a great deal into my daughter and it was difficult handing her off to the Navy.  Her PIR is at the end of January and then she's off to language school in Monterey for CTI training. The information found at "Navy for Dad's" and words by you and others has been comforting to me.

My son, Jairus left for basic training today. He will be a CSS (culinary specialist Submarine). I am scared, proud, nervous and anxious all at the same time. Jairus had to lose a lot of weight to get in, but he put the work in and it’s the first things he’s ever really worked for in his life. I am proud that he’s done what he had to do. I am confident that he will make it through boot camp, and I’ll get to see what the Navy has done with him.

Reading other dad’s comments has eased my mind some, but I’m a dad, so I’m going to worry.
