Thats great. I was in Navy Aviation, Aircraft Structural Mech, USS Midway and VP-46. My son hasn't replied to me, I asked him if he knows your son. Anytime you'd like to chat, or maybe take the wives to dinner let me know. my cell is 903-7579. Your son will likely see and do things he never imagined a year ago. You will learn things about him that make you so proud, and thats already started. Glad to know some local people are on the journey too.

Chris, has your wife found the NavyforMoms web site? There is a local group called the Indianapolis Westies that are active with dinners and other activities. They have a dinner planned for Navy week at Charbonos in Avon (Aug 15th) and there will be Sailors from the fleet joining the dinner. My wife and I are going, and I think you don't have to be a mom to attend or join the group outings. I've been to several with my wife.
