"Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of lifes longing for itself. They may come through but not from you, and though they are with you, yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love, but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, for their souls should dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite and he bends you to his might that his arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; for even as he loves the arrow that flies, so he loves also the bow that is stable."

    Hey Welcome Back!
Andrew is waiting for E-4 exam results. The command shuffled his barracks around to get squadrons together. At first he was not happy with his move, but he got a decent roommate and met some new friends. He has been looking into a scuba class. Three of the Marines he met through chapel are headed to the Middle East. Andrew has a new responsibility in the hanger. It has to do with keeping records on some of the materials kept on hand. Andrew is surprised that the job did not go to a petty officer instead of an airman. He seem to welcome the challenge and has a get it done attitude.
Adam has been to the Coast Guard recruiter and taken his ASVAB. The Coast Guard has been cut way back on the number of recruits that they are training this year and next. The recruiter told us that the Coast Guard currently has a very high reenlistment rate. Adam may request a retest of the ASVAB to see if he can improve as the Coast Guard is very selective. If he is selected to be enlisted he will not be sent to boot camp before October 2010. We will see how that goes?
