My son was just asking about the specific duties of the MAs at Norfolk. Is it possible to ask Jon for a briefing? I'd appreciate it!

Thanks Bob, all my best to you and Jon! Who knows? Maybe sometime we'll run into each other visiting the boys!

And who knows what Chris wants anyway? It depends on the statistics after his three year duty station is over. That's when they start dealing with the sailors' futures, as I've read.

I have learned it's all about the population in your rating. My buddy was a Helo mechanic for 12 years, cuz there was a lack of them when he served in the 80s. He worked on Apaches, and the Black Hawk at the end of his career.

Thanks Bob! I'll pass your son's name along to Chris for reference. I don't doubt their paths will cross.
BTW, my dad served in the Navy 52-56. The first two in Korea, with some amazing stories from the beach heads. He was a Quartermaster, but I'm not sure his rate when he mustered out.
Thanks Bob for your comment, Steve did it the hard way enlisted after being turned down as an alternate to West Point Glynm Team( ( reason I had no miltary service) he wanted a career in the service. The family was not happy and we were both black balled and disowned until he came out of boot camp, college and now this . Good Luck to you your graandson and family Kindest Regards Hank
What kind of food do you like? We have over 1,000 restaurants in the area. I'll make some suggestions. Seafood: Chick's, Bubba's, Charlie's (she crab soup, fried flounder sandwich), Croaker's (excellent fresh fish dinners), Lynnhaven Fish House, Steinhilber's
Italian: Il Giardino's, La Bella Italia (tons of fresh baked bread and pastries) excellent entrees.
Thank you Bob and I will pass your thank you on to my son. I have not been able to go see him yet but hope to one of these weekends. He lives on the ship so I would have to get a hotel room when I go down to see him and trying to save up some money to do that. That is great that you have been able to visit and hopefully I will be able to soon. Well take care and thank you for the comment and to your son for protecting us.

Thanks Bob! You bet that I'm a proud Dad....now she is heading to Rota with the Team...
How did you like Norfolk? Where did you stay?
Thanks, Bob!
I notice she puts a lot of posts on the Blues' page. I'll check it out.

Thanks! I'll do that! We were in Annapolis a few weeks ago as our son reenlisted at the WWII Memorial there.
