I have no idea about the Navy Lodge...I stayed at the Marriott for both my PIRs. You may want to ask in Bootcamp....I'm thinking maybe Craig stayed there for his first PIR....and think Terry has some info about it as well.
Jenene- I hope you are getting the answers to your questions and concerns. The depth of experience and knowledge with our members is really quite amazing and if someone does not know the answer, he/she can probably point you in the correct direction to find out! Best Regards- Paul
Hi Jenene ~ Welcome to Navy Dad's. I noticed your question to Ask A Recruiter and wanted to give you some info I had heard. My son's PIR was 8/15 but he's still in GL at A-school. Morgan will be graduating from HM on 12/12, but will be on hold until 12/19. He and other Mom's on N4M's have told me that the RTC and the school base close down for Christmas so they try to get all recruits and sailors out by 12/19. Coty's PIR could possibly be 12/19...lucky you! You'll know for sure when you receive the "form letter". Please know that we're here for you to help you out every step of the way and after. You are part of our Navy family now so don't feel like you need to travel this bumpy road that you're on alone.
I'm giving you a link Click It to Craig's page...he just did a PIR a couple of weeks ago for his son and does another this week for his daughter. I'm sure Craig could give you answers for your PIR questions. Also be sure to check the PIR-Tips,Hints, and Helps group as there is a lot of info there as well.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Coty's recruiter--- we have a Ask a Recruiter group and though Sean may not be able to answer specifics, he should be ablt to provide you with some answers. Click Here for a link, Hopefully you'll get that letter soon!
Jenene, Welcome Aboard! and thanks for joining us dads. I'm so glad to have the moms on here to keep us men in line. We will help in any way we can. So please jump right in share concerns, join groups, and show off your sailor. I hope this site will benefit you during your sons journey in the Navy. Thank your son for his service for me and thanks again for joining. Sincerely, EG
Welcome to NavyDads Jenene! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is a month into a seven-month deployment on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month deployment on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Jenene this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Coty is doing!
Be sure to spend some time in the Bootcamp group- there are many questions and answers available to help you understand what your sailor is going through. And as PIR draws closer, be sure to spend some time going through the PIR-Tips, Hints and Helps group- we’ve tried to assemble some tips and suggestions to make your sailors PIR more enjoyable. Best Regards- Paul
