The F-35B was designed to perform Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) operations on STOVL capable ships and austere airfields. For the U.S. Marine Corps, the F-35B will provide air power in support of the Marine Air Ground Task Force. The footage in this video was a demonstration for the Tigers this year and was conducted some 1,000 miles out to Sea in the blue Pacific. Surface ships include the USS Chancellorsville CG62, The USS Decatur DDG73, The USS Thach FFG43, and the USS Gridley DDG101.
