Navy Dads

Heard a guy on the radio say he travels a lot around the USA.  He buys a bunch of $10 or $20 VISA gift cards, and when he sees military traveling or in a restaurant, he gives them the gift card and says 'Thanks for your service, have lunch on me."  I'll have to try that.

We have a military post in our area (Rock Island Arsenal) and I work in downtown Davenport.  There are many "uniforms" that come off the island for lunch in downtown Davenport.  I have purchased many a lunch over the last 3+ years that I have been working downtown.  What amazes me is people look at you like you have an agenda when you do this, but it is the least we can do.  It has more meaning now that my daughter is in BC.

BZ to him and others who at least but an active military man/woman a meal. Personally i still buy those old WWll guys a meal or a beer or whatever  from time to time. I appreciate all of our servicemen and women and those guys from WWll, Korea, etc. My coffe mornings  are spent with Korean and WWll vets. They don;t talk much about what they did, did just a gleam in the eye or a tear on occasion. Again BZ to all who have served.
