Navy Dads

My son started his journey 10 months ago meeting with a recruiter.  After many hurdles, he went to RTC on 08/20.  We just received word 2 days ago that he has been medically separated and is now at Ship 5 awaiting his outprocessing, which could take 10-20 days (or more).  To say we are shocked, disappointed, sad and feeling every other emotion would be a huge under statement.  While we only scratched the surface, it was so much fun learning about the Navy during this journey and corresponding with many of you on this site and on the Facebook page.  Our journey has come to an end and there is nothing left for us here.  We  need to focus on the next path our son will take and see where life leads him now.  THANK YOU ALL so much for everything you have done for us.  I'd just ask for you to think about or say a small prayer for our son if that is your thing.

God bless you all, your Sailor Recruits, your Sailors and the best Navy in the world!

I can only imagine the pain you and your son are feeling but I truly believe things happen for a reason and that perhaps there is a different calling for your son....I will say a prayer that he finds that calling. Best of luck and keep your chin up!

Dear Jeff, I just read your post.  To say I am sorry for your Son is pretty empty, and cannot know how hard this must be on your Son and your family.  God, watch over Jeff's Son and help him find a path to new happiness and fulfillment.

Sorry to hear about your son. I'll be praying that the Lord guides you all through this.
Jeff I am extremely saddened by your news. I cant imagine what you, your son and your family must be going through. I am fairly new to NAVY DADS and have not experienced anything like this. Please accept my warmest regards and my heartfelt final Anchors Aweigh. God bless you and your family. And may your son find him self whole in a career that he truly loves. Richard Sands

You are part of the NavyDads family.  We invite you to stay but certainly understand if not. Our Lord clearly has a different plan for your son....please let us know how he does!

Jeff, wishing you and your son all the best in life ahead. A sincere thank you goes out for supporting you son. I take great confidence knowing it will have a great outcome. Keep him positive and focused - God Bless your Family!

I know how you feel, my son would have been 4th generation Navy. He was delayed entry and joined with 3 of his friends which were all ready and my son was the first of the 4 to go to basic, he was medically discharged while in P week (the first week). He was in ship 5 for around 3 1/2 weeks and hated every second and couldn't wait to get home. He has been home a year now and has a full time job and recently got married. his friends are all in and doing well. Life has its ups and downs but it does go on so maybe God has a different plan for him. Just continue to support him he will do well.

God Bless

Paul
