Our son called this morning also, called for 20 minutes. Said hell week is over for them monday.  Sounded really good!  The sailors typically fly out the next day if they are going to A schools outside of GL.  We will fly out early Saturday morning, only able to spend a few hours Friday with him.

David, good to hear your Son is doing well...subs, cool!  Opportunities to communicate do get better after basic but not all that much better.  A-School is very demanding ESPECIALLY "nukes", language school, etc. but you can at least schedule time to talk or even visit.  Wishing you and your Son the very best..!

Thanks for the info Richard.  I think just having his mother know that she COULD call him in the evening will make her happy.

My son Evan just got to boot on August 26. Once he finishes there he will be shipping off to Groton CT for sub training as well. He is so excited. Subs are a very small fraternity
